The Outdoor Council of Australia (OCA) recently held its Annual General Meeting, marking an important moment of reflection, renewal, and recommitment to advancing outdoor education, recreation, and participation across the nation. As the peak body representing the broader outdoor sector, the OCA continues to strengthen its role as a unifying voice—bringing together industry leaders, educators, providers, and advocates who share a commitment to safe, meaningful, and inclusive outdoor experiences for all Australians.
This year’s AGM focused on consolidating strategic progress made throughout 2025, including the progress of the industry-wide Australian Adventure Activity Standards (AAAS) Review Project and the development of the new 2025–2028 OCA Strategic Plan. Both initiatives have set a strong foundation for the work ahead, ensuring the sector remains future-focused, well-informed, and equipped to meet emerging opportunities and challenges.

Acknowledging the Contribution of Neil Le Febvre
The OCA extends its sincere appreciation to Neil Le Febvre, who has concluded his term after 12 months of proactive and strategic leadership. During his tenure, Neil played an influential role in guiding the AAAS Review Project commencement and supporting the development of the new strategic plan. His contributions have left a meaningful imprint on the organisation, and we thank him for his commitment to strengthening Australia’s outdoor industry.
Looking Ahead
With a refreshed board and a clear strategic direction, the OCA enters 2026 with renewed momentum. Our focus remains steadfast: advocating for the value of outdoor education and recreation, supporting best practice across the sector, and ensuring all Australians have the opportunity to learn, thrive, and connect through outdoor experiences.
We look forward to a productive and inspiring year ahead—and to working alongside our members and partners as we continue to champion the vital role of the outdoors in Australia’s wellbeing, resilience, and future.

Well done Neil and the previous board for moving forward with the review of the AAAS and other strategic issue and the new board for stepping up to manage the industry for the next year.
